Verba Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
Verba is built on one principle: your conversations never leave your iPhone. This policy explains what that means in practice.
The short version
Verba collects no data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. Everything the app does — recording, transcription, speaker identification, summaries, search, and AI answers — happens entirely on your device.
What Verba stores, and where
Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, chat history, and search index are stored only in Verba's encrypted local storage on your device. They are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. We (the developer) cannot see, access, or recover them.
Deleting the app deletes this data. Exporting data out of Verba happens only when you explicitly choose to export.
Permissions Verba asks for
- Microphone — to record meetings you start. Audio is processed on-device and never transmitted.
- Speech recognition — to transcribe on-device using Apple's speech technology. Apple's on-device speech recognition does not send your audio to Apple.
- Reminders and Calendar — only if you choose to turn an action item into a reminder or calendar event. Verba writes the item you chose and reads nothing else.
Every permission is optional; Verba degrades gracefully if you decline.
On-device AI
Summaries and question answering use Apple Intelligence models that run on your iPhone. Your transcripts are not sent to Apple, to us, or to any third party for AI processing. Verba's processing works with networking disabled (airplane mode).
Purchases
Verba Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Purchase state is stored by Apple and on your device. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple processes purchases.
Network use
Verba's processing path contains no network code. Your device's operating system may use the network for Apple system services — downloading Apple's speech model assets, or processing App Store purchases. These are Apple system functions governed by Apple's privacy policy; Verba itself transmits none of your content.
Analytics and tracking
Verba contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind. If you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as install counts); this contains none of your content and is controlled by your iOS settings.
Your legal rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)
Because we collect and process no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, sell, share, or delete on your behalf — your data is under your physical control on your device. Recording other people may require their consent under your local law; you are responsible for recording lawfully.
Children
Verba is not directed at children. Regardless of age, the app collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If a future version of Verba ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the change stated plainly at the top.
